Fifteen in school ,shot to death. 40 driving with a friend, a car pulls along side , Mark Smith shot to death. January first to current, 25 homicides, 16 by gun,53 more injured. L.A., New York, NO.. These are the facts from the streets of Toronto.
Are we going the way of the US? Will gun control stop this? Is this not Canada? These are some of the questions that go through my head. Then it settles down and other then a handful of people , we forget. Well maybe not forget. Diminish in importance is probably the better way to describe it.
How did we as Canadians let it get to this? We are a peaceful nation, our soldiers promote peace around the world. I for one Canadian am sick of this going on anywhere but especially in my own country. I want Canada to be known as a beautiful ,safe country to visit. I don't want us to become like so many others, scary as hell!!!!!

It seems like violence is on the increase everywhere and people are desensitized. The ability to empathize with others has largely disappeared. This is a "me first" generation. It is very scary.
